Now here is a testimonial:

“Janice has been the consummate friend and mentor. She edited my query letter that got a response from multiple agencies. She worked her magic on my sample as well and taught me how to create suspense in narrative. Janice cares!” — Athos Cakiades

Wow, this is great! Came to your site today after not being here for quite some time. I’m gonna, maybe – take a class one day. Knowing me, by the time I do it, you won’t be offering classes anymore, but that’s okay.

I like your comment at the end, where you say you also have a one time service where a person sends you something and you tell them whether its good or not. And then the sender iner and you never have to talk again – that cracked me up.

I love to write – for me it’s not so much about ever getting published, I just enjoy doing it and I’d love to have a proffessional’s opinion.

I have both of your memoirs by the way and really loved them! Coming to your site today reminded me that I should give them anther read ( I love re-reading things)

Alexandra, thanks for stopping by! I’m sorry there’s been no new content for a while — I have been busy writing piles of crap and then throwing them away. It’s frustrating, but I’m hoping something will come of it all someday soon. I’d love to talk to you about your writing someday — my classes are much more about writing for the self than they are about writing for publication. In the meantime, I hope you’ll keep it up! Thanks again for the lovely comment. :)

Ha! Maybe I am a real writer – as I write stuff and throw it away all the time or go look at it and say: “This is crap, what was I thinking!”

But I highly doubt your stuff is crap as you do have a natural gift to engage the reader – I look forward to reading your new stuff one day.

(btw, you’re writing resonates with me not just because you are a great writer, but also because I grew up in NYC around the same time as you)

I will employ your services soon!
